Rented it at very low price (ebook version) because my class do requires it.I read through it a bit and it is interesting and easy to understand....Shame I only read it first week (and I'm still passing my class with flying color) despite how my professor ensured the whole class that we absolutely need it.If you are renting it for class,MAKE SURE you are getting right version, I believe it's hardcopy version cover have different color from ebook version of it.If you need this book because you are interested (not because your class requires it), I would suggest PURCHASING hardcopy version or ebook not renting it because rental period is last about 4-5 months (just enough time for student to read it ONE semester) and unless you can memorize the whole book during that time, it would be better to purchase it rather than renting it again and again.

Book has lots of words clumped together in the first chapter. I haven read the 2nd or other chapters , I ca not return it right now because my class already started. Not happy with it. Read and you will see it.

Rented it on kindle because I had to get it for my class. I would rent it on eBook. The kindle program is really friendly. Its easy to find information you are looking for. I would rent it again if I had to. I rent most of my textbooks now because I don't use it after my class ends. I only need it for one semester. eBook is easier to navigate than the hard copy.

Had to rent this horrible textbook for my Sociology Class. I'm so happy I'm no longer taking it.The text book is very redundant and often repeats itself. YES IT GET IT, MARX's CLASS CONFLICT IS A BIG THING but WHY IN THE WORLD does it REPEAT ITSELF SO MUCH. The first two chapters, it's fine to talk about class conflict but to see it over and over again just drags out the content. Seriously this textbook could be so much shorter. It's not just me but it's also my class mates and even some of the amazon reviews, alot of people agree with this. Oh and don't get me started with the redundancy of functionalism repeating itself. I actually had to use another sociology textbook from another friend, and that book was so much more concise. Nothing but dragged out statistics and redundancy to make the text-book longer to make it seem more "content-filled." Blech...I got an A in the class but I hated it and I loathe' this book with a passion. Most of the content is literally common sense, making me question the "value" of learning sociology...I respect the field but this textbook was awful.

The book in it itself is okay. Gives ALOT of examples, but is not the greatest in the world. A lot of useless words. Alot of fluff good questions to ponder upon but the answers are not always directly in the book which I think beats the purpose of the book with questions. Amazon did an awesome job in getting the book for me on time and I was very satisfied with its conditions. Don't buy it unless you really need it. Not worth keeping to reread.

Had to use for a class, mostly relied on lecture material, could of gone without.

Needed it for my sociology class . It was perfect . It obviously showed that it was used previously ( i rented the book) but all the pages are there , some parts were highlighted but not a bother . Nevertheless, all the pages were there meaning i have no reason to complain .... overall, the Book helped get an A+ , so it deserves an A aswell ( well 5stars)

Just what I needed for sociology class
